Ideas to Keep Kids Busy Indoors

Being stuck at home with little ones for a long time can be very draining, no matter how amazing your kids are! 😅 But we are in this together and we can get creative with our resources.

Here are 7 ideas to keep kids busy indoors that are sure to give you some breathing time 🙌

1. Sensory Bins

Sensory bins are great – you can find them on Amazon but they are so easy to put together. All you need are large bins, colored rice, kinetic sand, scoops, and toys.

They have lots of educational benefits and one of the best and fun activities for little ones.

They will keep your toddler busy and entertained for a long time and you can also switch out the toys each time they play with them so there’s always something new and interesting.

2. Art

Art can keep your little ones busy for ages! Just put your toddler in a high chair with supplies for them to make art with, like some toddler friendly crayons or non-toxic finger paints.

3. Puzzles

The larger the better 😂 These will keep them entertained for a good while. Add some matching games too and they will be set!

4. Toy Swap

A great idea is to keep small toy bins at a closet or the garage and get them on different days so your toddler is always getting something new and won’t get bored so easily!

You can keep it the same theme per bin, like cars, dolls, action figures, blocks, coloring. It’s amazing when they haven’t seen something for a while they get so excited and entertained for hours.

5. Backyard Games

Spring is here and the sun is shining again, which is perfect for some outdoor activities. You can get a playhouse, water table, or sandbox for your kids to play with outside.

If you have more than one kid then they can easily come up with fun games to play with each other too!

6. Music & Stories

These never fail! And the best part is that if you’re busy or needing some time for yourself you can try youtube or even Google Home Mini, where you can ask it to play children’s songs or to tell a story to your kids. They love it and get so involved in it for a long time!
