10 Perks of traveling with little kids
Let’s face it, traveling and new adventures are a lot easier when you don’t have kids. However, like so much else with parenting, traveling with children is so worth it even if it’s not easy.
That is why we wanted to share with you this list of 10 perks of traveling with little kids and hopefully motivate you to get out there now and create new memories with your family that you will cherish forever!
1. Free Flights
For most (if not all) airlines, children ages 2 and younger can fly free as long as they sit on your lap. You don’t have to purchase them a ticket, and you can get luck and take on a flight with empty seats so you can give your lap a rest
Ages 2 and older will require a seat but many airlines will offer great discounts for children. If you do get them a seat, make sure to get your Koala Kloud too, especially on long haul flights, so your little one can fly comfy for a very affordable price!
2. Flexible Accommodations
Little kids are the best when it comes to accommodations because they are so flexible. They don’t require a lot of space so they can easily share a bed, sleep in a sofa bed or crib, giving you a lot more options to work with!
3. Free Meals
If you’re traveling with kids age 2 or under you can get free meals in many restaurants and hotel around the world. You can also find places that offer free or big discounts for kids under the age of 12. Once they hit the teenage years, those little mouths can get quite expensive haha
4. Easy Entertainment
Little kids can be so easily entertained! That definitely comes in handy during trips. You can carry some toys in your purse for them to play with while you wait on long lines for example, and if your plan is to relax, they can be happy for hours as long as they have a playground or park around.
5. Choose Your Own Itinerary
Young kids will go anywhere you go! That means if you what you want is to explore museums, restaurants and shops, all the kids need is some fun toys and attention and they won’t complain. That won’t be the case forever, when you have older kids they will have their own preferences, which will definitely require more flexibility and planning in order to please everyone.
6. Free Tickets / Admission
Family trips aren’t cheap… But it definitely helps when those pricey attraction admission tickets are free for little ones. The majority of them will be free for kids 5 and younger, and at least discounted for children under the age of 12.
7. You’re In Charge
Take full advantage of this beautiful age when your kids don’t doubt your decisions Little kids will trust wherever you decide for them and they’ll follow you anywhere. So take charge and make sure you enjoy your vacations to the fullest with your favorite meals, activities, and attractions.
8. Skip the Lines
Many places around the world will give you preference when you are with little ones because they know kids don’t have the patience to wait. Restaurants and attractions are aa great example, not to mention boarding at the airports. In many countries families also have priority in security and immigration lines.
9. No School Absence
Once your kid is in school, it definitely gets harder to plan vacations because it means they’ll be missing schoolworks and activities that could affect the rest of the year. The older they get it gets harder to miss school so take advantage of this stage where you are not restricted to their school schedule, which means you can make your vacations more affordable and avoid big crowds by traveling during slow seasons.
10. Character-Builder From A Young Age
This perk can seem subtle at first but trust me, traveling will do wonders to your kid’s development and personality, and the younger they start the better. It can seem like they are too young to remember the details but the new experience will help them develop great characteristics you’ll once notice in the future. Even little situations like when they feel challenged by sitting still on airplanes, they are learning patience. If they are nervous to try something outside of their comfort zones, they are learning to be bolder and braver
And make sure to bring your Koala Kloud travel footrest to make sure you and your kids actually enjoy and relax during the ride!
